Research
Need Finding & Interviews
From the field research, we learned that team synergy is difficult to achieve with the conventional model of creating a team of people who are unfamiliar with each other. People are forced to put people together in a semi-random manner.

What's been done in the space already

From observations, interviews, and competitive analyses, we’ve found that there is no single platform that effectively takes this idea and implements it efficiently for students. Most similar applications are based on niche markets, experienced professionals, or distant relationships. With “Team Up”, we bring a quick, easy solution to party building in co-located, synchronous interactions.

Design Process
Prototype 1
We used the Google Suite, primarily Google Sheets and Google Forms, to create a working prototype. However, even with scripting many parts of the app had to be manually changed to operate.
Prototype 2
After hitting functionality limits in Google Sheets, we transitioned to Bubble for our second prototype. With Bubble, we were able to create a full-fledged website complete with account sign in and database access for projects and applicants. It was also much more flexible in terms of UI, making it possible to implement all features with no manual intervention required during usage.
